KFC + Disruptive Tech

This article details an advertising strategy by KFC that encourages users with DVRs to watch their commercials at a slower speed in order to decipher a hidden message. Very interesting way of dealing with a technology which most other advertisers have tried to ignore.

It's nice to see a company trying to play along and use technology to its advantage, rather than fighting it tooth and nail in court.

P.S. What's the code so I don't have to waste my time watching their commercial?

The code, "Buffalo", gets you a coupon for the sandwich. But, as of right now, the site is apparently getting hammered. Good luck.

Hi Ilana,
Sorry to bother you and using this comment form to contact you. I have been following your blog for about a month and I like it a lot. I saw a blog entry once where you attened a seminar by Des Despande or someone with a similar name. I thought I would read it later but now I can't find it.
Would you send me that entry by email if you have deleted it?Or if you haven't can you give me the link?
My email is cgs@ranksitt.com.
